Riya Patel, Swapnil Raskar, Kairav Patel.

Abstract
Background: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neuro - developmental condition that manifests as communication, social, and behavioural problems. In Ayurveda, Unmad can be correlated with ASD. Unmad is caused by imbalances in Vata Dosha (body humor related to neurological function) and disruptions in Manovaha Srotas (channel carrying information to mind). Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of an integrative approach combining Ayurvedic interventions with behavioural therapy in the management of ASD in a paediatric case.Case details: The 5-year-old boy in this case study had been diagnosed with ASD since. He presented with history of delayed language development, hand flapping, repetition of words, and poor eye contact since 2 years. ISAA (Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism) was used to assess the child. Jatamansi Churna (powder), Kalyanaka Ghrita (Ghee), Sarvanga Abhyanga (whole body massage), Pratimarsha Nasya (nasal instillation), Matra Basti (medicated enema), and Herbo mineral formulations (Swarna Bhasma) were among the Ayurveda treatments used in an integrative treatment strategy. Behavioural therapy was also used for six months. Results: After the intervention, the patient's ISAA score decreased from 97 to 79, and there were also noticeable improvements in speech, attention span, and social interaction. Conclusion: According to this case, Ayurveda treatment combined with behavioural therapy provided a safe, supportive, and holistic approach in managing ASD over the long term.

Key words: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Unmada, ISAA score, Behaviour therapy, Ayurveda, Integrative approach.
